Can You Trade Your Home Instead of Buying or Selling a Home?

Going back in time to Medieval Real Estate, I am sure they were using more of a “Barter System” than we do today, and it seemed to work out pretty well for them! So today, with our current Real Estate Market, can we still use this concept to Buy and Sell real estate?

Some Other Real Estate Agents Have weighed In as Follows …

“Depends on what you have and where you want to be, not to mention what price you are in.”

“Theoretically yes, but obviously, the trick is that you have to find someone in a similar situation where you want to move who wants to move where you currently live.”

Nowadays, we may call this a 1031 Exchange. Which BTW, is a lot different than just putting your home on Craigslist and finding a ready and willing Buyer!

With today’s Market changing so frequently this typoe of idea is not that far fetched, the 1031 exchange is something we do on a regular basis. If you have any questions, or comments please share them with us?
